Dream Catchers Nepal (DCN) is a non- profit non-government organisation focused on various education initiatives to aid in the sustainable growth and development of Nepal by making meaningful and positive changes in the lives of women and girls, teaching them to dream and empowering them through training and education initiatives.
DCN is looking for facilitators for its Dream Centres project in Kathmandu, being run in coordination with Mitrataa Foundation. In a nutshell, Dream Centres:
- Aim to prepare Nepal’s for the future – teaching them skills for learning, skills for life
- Are a tutoring centre with a twist – beyond tutoring to mentoring, providing girls with a fun filled place to do their homework and learn important skills
DREAM CENTRES Position: FACILITATOR No: 2 Positions
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Run the centre every afternoon after school (Monday – Friday) for the girls for 2 hours for 15 – 20 children with additional one hour for preparation.
- Prepare and facilitate the activities for the children to develop their skills for learning and skills for life.
- Assist children with their homework.
- Liaising with centre stakeholders including parents, guardians, school principal and teachers and community members.
- Dedicate preparation time for creative and smooth running of the classes.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Intermediate Pass
- Minimum one year experience working with children and women (Preferred)
- Skills in mentoring of Government school’s curriculum (Grade 4 - 8)
- Proficient in IT skills: especially MS Office, Email and Internet
- Good oral and written communication skills in English and Nepali
- Planning and report writing skills
- Have passion for creativity
- Have willingness to learn and try  new things

Practical Action Consulting is organizing a training on Emergency Market Mapping and Analysis (EMMA) Toolkit in Kathmandu, Nepal on 19-23 March 2012. The training is a five day orientation in use of the EMMA toolkit which will equip participants to understand, analyse and make better use of market system in emergency situations.
The objective of the Emergency Market Mapping and Analysis (EMMA) tool training materials is consistently and reliably to provide trainees with the skills and knowledge required to undertake EMMA in sudden onset emergencies. The use of EMMA should enable field workers to design more appropriate, market centred assessments, monitoring systems and interventions, be they cash-based, in-kind or advocacy led.
Those using the materials should be people who are competent trainers, comfortable with the use of participatory and experiential learning approaches. They will need to be those who have made themselves very familiar with the EMMA Toolkit and have an in-depth understanding and knowledge of the training materials.
It is a five-day workshop, and careful preparation is required in choice of participants, venue and resources required successfully to run the workshop.
It is impossible within five days to bring trainees to a detailed and complete knowledge of the content and workings of the Toolkit, but it will allow them to understand the core and essential purposes, processes and tools used within EMMA. It will inspire them sufficiently to have the confidence to study the Toolkit further after the workshop, and then to use it in the field!

Access a 8-month learning programme between Latin American, African and South Asian policy makers and practitioners, that offers:
- Networking with people and organisations working on similar issues, in online and offline activities
- Learning from common problems and different solutions
- ELLA certificate on completion of the programme
- A visit to Latin America for selected active members of the learning programme
- Funds for innovative proposals for using the knowledge and learning acquired
How much does it cost to join? There is no cost to join. Â We anticipate members will need to devote about one hour per week to the learning programme.

Position 1: Program Manager
A Program Manager is responsible for the effective, efficient operation of all the programs that organization have planned and approved. The program manager will be the leader of program team and work as a full time employee. Following will be the main functioning of the Program Manager

Position 2: Psychosocial Counsellor
- Provide psychosocial care and support through in person and distance counselling services
- Monitor and follow up psychosocial care training provided personnel and track their services
- Assess the situation of victim/survivor and work together on developing case management plan
- Perform accordingly as per case management plan
- Follow up and report progress on client of psychosocial service
- Work in collaboration with police, other protection authority, NGOs, schools and community
- Coordinate and collaborate with district project officer for responding cases and informing community about available services
Required Qualification
- At least Para Counselling Training with 2 years of experience or of one years of experience with PG on Psychosocial care
- Communication skills in Nepali
- Good public relation skills, open minded and learning attitude
- Adequate knowledge on CWISH issues and scope of interventions
- Adequate knowledge on law and human rights issues
Position 3: Legal Program Officer
- Provide legal support for victim of abuse and violence and target group of organization
- Help states’ legal agencies to perform their role
- Design, suggest, implement legal programs to promote justice for marginalized and excluded groups
- Review legal documents and provide recommendations
- Provide legal advise and required legal support for organization
Required Qualification
- Licensed lawyer upto Appellate Court
- LLB or BL with at least 1 year of experience of legal advocacy
- Communication skills in Nepali
- Good public relation skills, open minded and learning attitude

VSO is an international development organization working in Nepal since 1964. VSO Nepal invites dynamic and qualified Nepali citizens to apply for a senior position of Programme Manager- Secure Livelihoods based in its country office in Kathmandu. Reporting to the Country Director, the Programme Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of livelihood focused projects/programming of VSO Nepal.
Major Responsibilities:
Programme and partnership development - shape programme objectives, engage relevant stakeholders to inform and influence decision making, liaise with the media on advocacy where appropriate, ensure that gender, climate change and community cohesion themes are included; identify relevant development interventions to deliver desired outcomes within the programme plans.
Programme planning, implementation and review – lead the design and delivery of appropriate  planning, monitoring, evaluation and reporting mechanisms compliant with VSO and donor requirements but taking into consideration realities on the ground; ensure and determine maximum impact for beneficiaries, and ensure that continuous development and learning takes place.
Volunteers Support - to induct, orient and provide on-going support to volunteers, including safety and emergencies. Â Engage volunteers in planning processes, supporting them to identify linkages between their work and delivery of VSOs goals, and supporting partners to ensure that volunteers perform to a high standard against agreed placement objectives (particularly with grant-funded placements)
Finance and Resource Management- develops, maintains and regularly reviews financial plans to deliver programme objectives.
Programme funding – develop and implement programme funding plans, including identifying sources of programme funding, writing project proposals and networking with donors, to ensure availability of relevant programme resources.
Other Duties - deputise for the Country Director or other senior staff as required. Assist or take leadership in emergencies as required, working closely with the Country Director and other team members
Essential Qualifications Required:
- Demonstrated experience on designing and delivering Secure Livelihood programmes/projects
- Proven experience of securing and managing external funding, including proposal and report writing
- Proven financial and personnel management skills.
- Proven experience of working in a diverse, multicultural team.
- Proven experience of building successful partnerships and networks
- Evidence of understanding the project cycle, challenges of donor and contract management and the implications for programme management.
- Masters degree or higher studies in related field.
- Fluency in spoken and written English and Nepali required
- Excellent computer skills (Windows, Excel, Power Point)
Desirable:
- Experience of managing international volunteers.
- Experience and confidence in networking with and securing coverage in the media
- Experience in security risk management
- Clean driving license

Handicap International (HI) is an independent and impartial international aid organization working in situations of poverty and exclusion, conflict and disaster. In Nepal, HI has been present since 2000. We work primarily through partner organizations in the development of projects and activities for the rehabilitation and inclusion of persons with disabilities into the mainstream development process. Prevention of disabilities and combating exclusion and stigmatization of persons with disabilities are also a major focus of our work.
The Earthquake Preparedness Project is a consortium of WHO, Merlin, Oxfam and HI which works to improve emergency response capacity of health and rehabilitation services for a major earthquake in the Kathmandu Valley. SPK with support from HI has developed three clinical protocol / guideline on Medical, Surgical and Rehabilitation Management of expected Injuries during an Earthquake Scenario. The protocols/ guidelines were developed by senior national and international consultants in consultation with wide range of health professionals from Nepal. The health professionals in and outside Kathmandu valley will be trained on these clinical guidelines to prepare a set of health professional workforce who could be mobilised during an emergency situation.
The overarching goal of the consultancy mission is to develop training manuals and materials based on the 3 protocols and delivery a ToT to a set of master trainers for the field level implementation.
Requirements:
Surgeon: Orthopedic/ General/Neuro Surgeon, PMR Specialist, with at least 10 years of clinical and appropriate teaching experience, The specialists should have skills in acute phase management of the spinal cord injury, Amputation and open fractures and Demonstrated experience and competence in designing and delivering training to health professionals.
Physiotherapist: Physiotherapist, Occupational therapist with at least 3-5 years of experience in clinical management of spinal cord injury, amputation and complex fractures, with appropriate experience / competency in designing and delivering training to health professionals. Skills on early management/ acute phase management of spinal cord injury, amputation and open fractures
Nurses: Qualified nurses with at least 10 years of clinical and appropriate teaching experience. The Nurses should have skills in acute phase management, and Demonstrated experience and competence in designing and delivering training to health professionals.
