We are delighted to inform you that Appreciative Leadership and Development Management (ALDM), Nepal has announced training on Appreciative Leadership and Development Visioning dated 19-22 April 2010 to be held at Yak Palace, Pulchok (formerly Hotel Narayani). This training is designed for INGOs, NGOs, Managers, Officers, Coordinators, Trainers, Bilateral agencies, Multilateral agencies, UN organizations, Government organizations, Business organizations, Academic institutions and individuals leading through a series of powerful learning activities that will enhance human capacities and identify and optimize inspiring cum high performing leadership and visioning skills bearing the notion that everyone has unlimited possibilities and potentials to become a dynamic leader and development visioner.

The training will be highly interactive having the objectives:

To understand the scope and potentials of Appreciative Inquiry (AI) approach for development visioning

To leverage leadership and management greatness at the individual and organization levels for better performance to sustain a productive organization.

To throw light on spiritual understanding and Appreciative Inquiry and

To generate action plan along with commitments of respective organizations / individuals to optimize the intended vision and action.

To realize the vision of a prosperous Nepal, young people have an eminent role to play. Be it in taking the first step towards enterprise building or towards shouldering the risk and leadership it takes to be innovative and creative.

Arthālaya (School of Entrepreneurship and Economics) is a five day workshop promoting the spirit and skill of entrepreneurship and sensitizing young people about economic freedom and policy regime.

The main purpose of this program is to help young people explore alternative ideas for Nepal’s existing problems; to help young people understand the value of entrepreneurship and to help them learn the know how of building new businesses and inject new ideas into the economy for promoting economic reform. The program will include mock debates; business simulations that will help youth understand the importance of entrepreneurship, implications of various policy measures and role of private sector and government in economic reform. There will be case studies, lectures from experts and various experiences sharing sessions.

Eligibility:

For participation, applicants must be currently enrolled in undergraduate or post graduate program in any faculty.

Applicants are required to be between 18-26 years of age in order to participate in Arthalaya.

Program Associate - Based in Kathmandu

Basic Functions:

Program Associate is responsible for providing programmatic and administrative support to the Program and Technical Units in maintaining effective communications and information within the Unit and across Teams.  Assists with reporting requirements and coordinates for execution of Sub-agreements and amendments.

Minimum Required Qualification and Skills:

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in social science, public health and management or other related field with minimum three years of experience.

Skills/Qualities: Ability to work independently, excellent oral and written English skills required; computer literate, ability to provide management, secretarial and administrative support to the program staff and a strong team player.
